Event Details

Some of the most talented jazz instrumentalists and vocalists in the Midwest will be collaborating for a concert to benefit Japanese earthquake/tsunami relief on Sunday, May 1, 2011, from 3-6pm at Summerfield United Methodist Church in downtown Milwaukee.

The ‘Jazz for Japan’ concert will feature a performance by distinguished vocalist Adekola Adedapo, the mother of ‘American Idol’ finalist Naima Adedapo. Other notable musicians to perform include Mark Davis, Scott Napoli, John Price, Janet O’Mahony, Mark Thierfelder, Kaye Berigan, Dave Braun, Lem Banks, Leiko Napoli, Greg Marcus, Jose Acevedo and many other guests.

“Many of the performers, including myself, have personal ties to Japan,” says Mark Thierfelder, co-organizer of the event. “The disasters there have been devastating and we are glad to do our small part to help in the rebuilding efforts. We invite the public to come enjoy some beautiful music for a great cause.”

There is a $10 suggested donation for those attending the concert. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross’ Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief fund.
